“Out with the old and oh… in with the overpriced.” Carrie Bradshaw said it best when looking for a new desk for her fabulously remodeled apartment. Updating your home can be very exicting, and very pricey. I found this out when trying to bring organization to my apartment.

As an apartment dweller, you are often limited in the amount of space you have to express your decorating style and to organize your stuff, especially when you are sharing it with your boyfriend. Here comes the clutter! We moved into our apartment about a year and a half ago and I am still trying to figure out how two people could create such a mess. Not to mention the fact that until two months ago I was working from home. Can you say stressful? And so with the new job came new inspiration. I have taken on the task of bringing order and a little more style to our apartment. But as every homemaker knows, starting fresh can be rather pricey, so I am taking it one room at a time.

Living Room Organization

The first room is my living room. Although our furniture is nice, we have had a constant battle with dust and clutter when it comes to dvd, board games, video games, etc. Using a book case to organize this mess was a good way to place everything on a shelf, however, it also screamed to our visitors how much clutter we really had. And so the first project I am taking on is the 9-Cube Organizer I purchased for my living room. This organizer by Closetmaid brings style and organization to the room, without hurting my checkbook.
